Return to Contribute to Educational Heritage Project
Please see the following instructions about contributing Country Reports or Personal Interviews:
Choose a country or countries represented by the participants of literacy programs in Minnesota. Use the steps below and the additional materials as a guide for collecting information about that country. Compile results and send them to Volunteer@theMLC.org .
Country Reports
1) Choose a country of your choice (that is reflective of the immigrant/refugee population in Minnesota).
2) Research the assigned country (arrange this with the coordinator ahead of time), focusing on the educational system. The resources used can be an agency, an expert (educated person from that culture/country), books, internet sites, newspapers, periodicals, etc.
3) Use the template provided,to complete information about the country/culture you have chosen. It is not necessary to include everything on the list if the information is not available. Keep the information brief, and keep track of all the sources you use - documents, maps, flags, etc.
4) The final product should be a 2-3 page fact sheet on the assigned country/culture based on the country profile format, including a bibliography.
5) Please submit electronically as a word document (using the template) to your instructor or coordinator and E-mail to: Volunteer@theMLC.org
